1. This was a week of pastoral extremes, a reminder that ministers are often called into the heights and depths of human experience. That's all I can say about that.
2. We got our first CSA box this week, and I can already tell it's going to be a fun foodie summer. The big wins so far were the salsa (green onions, garlic scapes, black beans, cherry tomatoes, and lime), and the salad I had last night, which was admittedly stolen right off the Trader Joe's sample board (bitter greens, honey goat cheese, strawberries, dried figs, and balsamic glaze).
3. I'm improving quite a bit as a runner. My running group has decided to add sprint drills and distance runs, and after just a couple weeks of this I am already running faster and longer. I can't decide if I want to focus on becoming a faster 5k runner, or if I want to train for something longer. All I know is that I love it.
4. We are finally getting around to putting more pictures up, now that
we've been here over a year. Marie gave us these beautiful photographs
for Christmas. It took us awhile to figure out where to put them, and how to put them up, but I think we nailed it. Or, I should say, picture-hanging-stripped it.
